RIO BUENO JAMAICA - Jamaica Vacation Villas for Rent
RIO BUENO JAMAICA - Jamaica Vacation Villas for Rent
"I say! The water tickles a bit!"
So, you are thinking about a trip to the Caribbean islands and your not sure where to go? No problem, why not try Rio Bueno in Jamaica? If you like beautiful scenery, water in abundance, views of the Caribbean sea and water sports then you are on a winner with Rio Bueno. I was talking to a friend of mine, Annie Temple of Bahamas property. Annie Temple from the Bahamas is a regular visitor to most of the Caribbean islands and so knows a thing or two when it comes to finding great locations for people. When I asked where she would go for something a little different from the regular Jamaica vacation Annie Temple said, without a moments hesitation "Rio Bueno in Jamaica".
Rio Bueno is a small fishing town about 32 miles along the north coast of Jamaica from Montego Bay, east as the crow flies, if you fly west the crow will end up in Mexico. Rio Bueno has a claim to fame, it is believed this was the first place Christopher Columbus first set foot in Jamaica, some say Discovery Bay (thus the name) but unless you asked the bloke himself, the argument will continue. The Name Rio Bueno may have come about because of the depth of the harbour, the deepest in Jamaica, and a great attraction from tourist by land and sea.
Rio Bueno is a small fishing community but there are some delights to enchant the eye, the scenery up and down the river has been used in major Hollywood movies and thousands of home movies, it is a truly beautiful experience to wobble and bobble down the river on what is in essence a large inner tube coloured Orange with a couple of handles to stop you falling off, there really are arranged tours from several points up and down Rio Bueno, you can bounce the rapids on these Tubes, really (If you are mad enough!).
There are more waterborne activities that will take you to and from Rio Bueno, such as Kayaking, Rafting and Water boarding or River Boarding but it all amounts to the same thing, a fantastic, exhilarating day out in one of Jamaica’s beautiful settings.
Rio Bueno is not totally bereft of cultural sites to visit, for example; there is the ruins of an 18 century colonial fort you can wander around, great for the photographers, there are also some excellent historic buildings of a bygone era and delightful churches that offer views across the Caribbean Sea.
Getting to Rio Bueno is not at all difficult, you can get there from Montego Bay, Falmouth and Ocho Rios, taxis are plentiful and there is the option of shore excisions for the Pirates amongst you. All in all a truly pleasant and authentic Jamaica location.
Now, as luck would have it, Personal Choice Jamaica the top Jamaica Villas rentals company has plenty of luxury villas and accommodation in and around Rio Bueno, great Jamaica Villas such as Beachnut Villa, Idleawhile Villa, Fantasy Villa and Sleepy Shallows to name but a few.
Plan your Jamaica vacation in advance to get the most out of your time in this beautiful Caribbean Island and if you need help, the staff of Personal Choice Jamaica are ready to help, check out the chat room on the main website or contact us for more details. http://www.personalchoicejamaica.com

Caribbean Cookbook - Guide to Caribbean recipes
Caribbean Recipes
Molded Brain Salad. "Would Sir like chips with that?
There are many aspects of a Caribbean vacation to consider such as; Where to stay, what to do but most important of all is ‘What to eat?’ Now we may be familiar with some cuisines more than others and as luck would have it, there are now many culinary programs on the TV where we can clue ourselves up to which country we are visiting
India is a ‘no brainer’ as we Europeans, especially the British have made Indian food the top of our list of favourite foods along with Chinese, Italian and the fast food chains. Other cuisines are not so well known and although some areas have a large Caribbean population the Caribbean cuisine has been largely low key. OK, there is now Reggae - Reggae sauce adverts and Jonathan Phang has his Caribbean Cookbook on TV but that is hardly setting the place on fire.
In the interest of the people visiting the Caribbean islands with Luxury Arrivals I found a great website that has the best of the top Caribbean dishes listed so you can try them yourself before you set sail. OK, they won’t be authentic but at least you will know what to expect when you arrive at your luxury villa, hotel or resort.
If, like me, you are an aficionado of the hot and spicy food then you will just love the Jerk chicken and Jerk pork, they are made using Scotch Bonnet peppers that are fiery hot and spicy and you can cool down with a delicious banana smoothie.
Don’t let me spoil the surprises, check out this fantastic site BBC Good Food Guide
For local knowledge ask the staff of www.luxuryarrivals.com where they eat.

Caribbean Weddings - Barbados
Beautiful Barbados
I know for a fact that a lot of people want to get married in the
tropics, two of my own nieces were marries in The Dominican republic and
Trinidad despite coming from the north of England, you would think that was a
very long way to go for a wedding ceremony but you would be wrong as thousands
of people get married on one of the many Caribbean islands every year and it
looks set to be as popular as ever.
There are many reasons why people choose to visit the Caribbean for
vacations and the same can be said as far as weddings and family reunions are
concerned, for a start, you are guaranteed an exotic and beautiful backdrop of
blue skies, blue seas, sandy beaches and exotic flora and fauna so the
photographs are bound to be interesting. There are also wedding specialist
available to take over the running of that special day so you can relax and
just enjoy the occasion.I suppose it also helps that it is relatively simple to get married in places such as Barbados where you need only turn up at the offices of the Ministry of Home Affairs in Bridgetown armed with the required documents (these you will find on the Luxury Arrivals website page for weddings in Barbados) you don’t need to reside in Barbados, you don’t need to be there for any given length of time, it really is straight forward and uncomplicated.
Visit the Luxury Arrivals website for more details and also, while you’re there, take a look at the great luxury honeymoon and wedding reception villas that are available. If you need a wedding day specialist to take control of things, then that can be arranged for you as well.

Caribbean Official Tourism Site
I’m not sure about you and I can speak only for myself but,
I love information, facts and figures, in fact, I am told that I am a mine of
useless information but on the odd occasion I do come up trumps with some
information gems. The Official Tourism Site of the Caribbean Islands is just
one of them.
This is a really fantastic website that is bursting with all
the top facts and figures as well as some amazing photographs and great videos,
a website that is more like an entertainment portal than a tourist information
site. http://www.caribbeantravel.com/
I bet, if I was to ask 100 people to name 20 Caribbean
islands most would not get past ten, in fact I reckon most would not get past
Jamaica, Barbados, St Martin and the Virgin islands, well, if you are one of
them then this is the site for you.
There is a great big map of the Caribbean along with a complete list of all the Caribbean locations, there are also features and videos on each place along with recommendations of where to go, what to see, where to eat and much more.
