Caribbean Cookbook - Guide to Caribbean recipes

Caribbean Recipes

Molded Brain Salad. "Would Sir like chips with that?

There are many aspects of a Caribbean vacation to consider such as; Where to stay, what to do but most important of all is ‘What to eat?’ Now we may be familiar with some cuisines more than others and as luck would have it, there are now many culinary programs on the TV where we can clue ourselves up to which country we are visiting

India is a ‘no brainer’ as we Europeans, especially the British have made Indian food the top of our list of favourite foods along with Chinese, Italian and the fast food chains. Other cuisines are not so well known and although some areas have a large Caribbean population the Caribbean cuisine has been largely low key. OK, there is now Reggae - Reggae sauce adverts and Jonathan Phang has his Caribbean Cookbook on TV but that is hardly setting the place on fire.

In the interest of the people visiting the Caribbean islands with Luxury Arrivals I found a great website that has the best of the top Caribbean dishes listed so you can try them yourself before you set sail. OK, they won’t be authentic but at least you will know what to expect when you arrive at your luxury villa, hotel or resort.

If, like me, you are an aficionado of the hot and spicy food then you will just love the Jerk chicken and Jerk pork, they are made using Scotch Bonnet peppers that are fiery hot and spicy and you can cool down with a delicious banana smoothie.

Don’t let me spoil the surprises, check out this fantastic site BBC Good Food Guide

For local knowledge ask the staff of www.luxuryarrivals.com where they eat.
